Love Ignites Peace: The Oxygen to Empowerment

Published on
April 17, 2025

From the outside, I looked fine. Inside, I couldn’t breathe.

Life in my 30s felt like I was being held underwater. I was gasping for air, trying to find joy, but the bubbly, life-loving version of me had no oxygen left.

My health had deteriorated, leaving me physically depleted. And the unkind words my husband and I had slung back and forth had slowly eroded my self-confidence and self-worth.

There was no breath deep enough to re-energize what I’d lost.

As a young girl and woman, joy had always bubbled up from inside me—even over the simplest things. Feeling the grass under my feet. Going out to dinner with my grandparents. Life was full of effortless pleasures.

I missed that young woman deeply. I wanted her back.

Two things happened within two years that changed everything.

On March 30th, 2006, I got my life back. A simple diagnosis—stop eating gluten—helped me regain my physical vitality and energy.

And then, three essential words found me: Love Ignites Peace. They became my north star. They guided me through a 15-year journey of self-discovery—and into Love in its biggest, boldest, most unconditional form.

Through that process, I learned how to shed the self-beliefs that had fueled my unhappiness. I began to rise again—this time with joy, self-trust, and peace at my core. My inner strength flexed just enough courage to make some big life changes.

I started writing it all down—not just what happened, but how I changed. What I uncovered was my personal empowerment… and my human potential… as I journeyed back to unconditionally loving myself.
